Porsche 996 GT3 RS / R

This is a 2001 Porsche 996 GT3 RS factory race car for sale.  Excellent period race history. Competed in FIA GT championship in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004. In its final season it was run by the legendary Felbermayr Proton partner ship and can be put in its iconic Felbermayr Proton livery from that period.

Also raced in the Spa 24hr finishing 5th in class and the Nurburgring 24hr. These cars are eligible for modern classic racing championships allowing them to race at Le Mans Classic and Spa Classic. Specifically the Endurance Racing Legends series with Peter Auto have modified their class structure, which means the 996 cars are able to race for class wins.

Recently refreshed with a brand new engine purchased directly from Porsche Motorsport Germany. Since running in the engine has completed only the Le Mans 24hr Support Race and the Estoril Classic meeting with the ERL series (5 hours). Gearbox on 9 hrs since last check and new ring/pinion fitted. 9 hrs on clutch and drive shafts. All crack test certificates. Final drive and gearing for faster circuits like Le Mans / Daytona.

Freshly repainted on the exterior and ready to go. Original tub. Full set of spare body work and spare wheels also available.
